When I wake up everyday knowing that I’ll be able to see someone, I come alive. I come alive with several things, but it’d be hard to explain. Because I want to see a smile on someone’s face, I want to be a part of their lives. I want to see people succeed, to see them open up, to see all the ways they change the world around them.
But I also want to see them on the opposite end of the spectrum, to see them fight through the dark and make their way to the light. I want to see them change for the better, and witness them improve when they are coming out of a bad, bad place.
Each person goes about each situation differently, and each person is so unique. Although they might not like me, or even if they don’t know me, they are each unique and there is good in them. Sure, there are flaws – every human has them. But each person has goodness in them no matter who they are. When I see them find true joy for themselves, that is when I feel true satisfaction. Because they have found the thing that makes them come alive.
And I am proud. Even if I had nothing to do with it.
On a lighter note, I come alive finding out and learning more about people I don’t know. Expanding your horizons is something I believe in, and selfish as it may sound, one day I hope to be the reason for the smile I see on people’s faces.
When I am with people, especially those I love, everything we talk about makes me come alive. So when it comes down to it, it’s not just the people, it is everything that comes with the people. They are the ones that bring out the life in me.

Reflection:
This piece was the piece that was really hard to start. I’m a very indecisive person and a lot of the time I don’t know what I like/what I want (which I need to work on), so even coming up with a topic was a challenge for me. And because my topic was so broad, I didn’t exactly know how to start. However, after I figured out my first few sentences, the rest of it naturally flowed and it became easier and easier. Although I didn’t necessarily enjoy writing this, I think it conveys what I enjoy about people and being around them close to perfectly.

The way you phrased sentences really inspired and touched my heart. Your narrative technique and pauses in your writing were able to communicate your emotions through your words.

I really like what you said that “each person goes about each situation differently, and each person is so unique” because it made me think of my experience of hiding myself from other people as an introvert. As I read this piece of writing, I could feel that everything came from your heart and I felt the same. I also find myself alive whenever I am around people and see their smiles on their faces.
